Tending Fire and the Human Soul

“Fire ignites the consciousness of an identity that transcends and includes our personal selves. If we pay attention to our relationship with this primal force, we experience a revelation the most essential working of ourselves and the cosmos.”- A Place Based Guide to Wonder by Matthew Fogarty

In this monthly offering we will gather on the land and try our hands at the archetypally Human task of crafting and tending Fire. Not only will we cultivate the knowledge, experience, and skill required to make Fire by friction but we will also take the time to look inward and learn to tend the internal Fire that burns in each of us.

The art and practice of crafting and tending fire is not only an important survival skill but an opportunity to discover our primal competency born through over 1million years of Human ancestry.
